Her achievements may seem modest compared with those of some well-known male cheaters. Yet, women are rarely praised in this field. So it is not surprising that every woman who has gained significant success in casino cheating draws the attention of security personnel and ordinary citizens interested in the casino.
Sherri's Blackjack Cheating Career
Sherri was born in May 1961. In the early nineties, she met Salvatore Gillette, who worked with Richard Marcus. Sherri also gradually started to love this dangerous profession.
At first, she performed minor tasks.
- Sherri played blackjack or roulette, distracting the dealer, while her fellows performed their cheating tricks.
- Then Marcus saw her outstanding abilities and started to give her more responsible tasks.
- Skansen made wagers on the roulette, which allowed her partners to replace winning bets with more valuable chips.
Somewhat later, she cashed out the stolen chips. This may seem a minor matter, but professionals know that most of them attract too much attention at this stage. It usually results in an investigation, a closer look at the videos, and possibly detecting the fraud. For a long time, Sherri withdrew money fast and easily.
The pinnacle of her "career" was making claims about the allegedly wrong-paid bets after replacing them with more expensive chips. This method is known as past posting.
Skoons perfectly played the role of a dumb blonde no one could suspect to be an intelligent cheater. She was never caught.
Quitting in Time
Surprisingly, Sherri managed to fascinate not only male players and casino employees but also dealers, pit bosses, and female managers. Her ability to manipulate people was far from her only advantage. More important was that Skoons could control herself and found the strength to leave Marcus' team in time.
In 1995, she decided to get an education and chose forensic criminology, which was a pretty unexpected choice for a former cheater.
One series of CSI Crime Scene Investigation mentions the name Sherri Skoons. It means that she was not unnoticed. If she had not stopped in time, it might end with the court and imprisonment.
